Analytics for contributors

What a contributor can see about their published post, and how to switch it on.

Every published contribution shows you, under any workspace role, what Ghost's own records say about the post: how many emails were sent, delivered and opened, how many clicks they received, and how many members the post signed up or converted. The numbers are read from your site through the Admin API and cached for ten minutes.

Contributors see the same panel on their own published posts only when you switch Show analytics to contributors on in the site's settings. Until then the panel does not exist for them.

With a staff access token stored (see bylines), the panel also shows where the post's new members came from, as a table of the sources that brought them with the free and paid members each brought, and the post's visitors where your site's web analytics are switched on. Without web analytics the panel says page views are not configured on the site; without a staff token it says the referrers and page views need one and where to add it. Ghost answers these two reads to a staff token alone, never to an Admin API key.
