Terms of service

The agreement between a publisher and Enova Studio for the use of SponsorPass.

Draft

Draft pending professional review (see the Legal overview). Effective date: to be set at launch.

Who we are and what this is

SponsorPass ("the service") is operated by Enova Studio ("we", "us"), a business registered in Sri Lanka. These terms are an agreement between us and the person or organisation that creates a workspace ("you", "the publisher"). By creating a workspace you accept them.

What the service does

The service connects to a Ghost site you control, through that site's Admin API, and gives it a paid-contribution workflow: members of your site who hold a tier you map can buy sponsored posts, press releases or guest posts with credits, write them in an editor, and submit them to you. You review them in the service and publish them yourself, in Ghost.

The service never publishes, schedules or unpublishes a post on your site. It creates a draft when a contribution is submitted, updates that draft when the contribution is revised, and deletes that draft only when you ask it to and the draft is still the one it created. It never changes your site's settings, themes, members' subscriptions or anything else.

Your account and your site

You must be allowed to connect the site: its owner, or a staff user the owner authorised. You give the service an Admin API key of a custom integration you created for it, and, if you choose imported bylines, a staff access token of a dedicated Administrator account created for the service. Both are stored encrypted and used only for the operations listed in the developer documentation. You can rotate or revoke either at any time in Ghost; the service then asks you to reconnect.

You are responsible for everything done in your workspace by the people you invite (owners, editors, finance), and for keeping your sign-in email secure.

The plan, the trial and payment

A workspace starts with the trial its plan carries, shown when the workspace is created, and needs no card. After the trial, the service costs the plan's price shown at checkout (a monthly subscription, with a yearly option at the price shown there), billed by Stripe on our behalf. Prices are shown before you subscribe and can change with 30 days' notice by email.

If a payment fails, the service tells you and keeps working while the card is retried. If the subscription ends or stays unpaid, the workspace becomes read-only: contributors cannot submit new work, and everything else keeps working: you can still review, settle credits, export and disconnect. Nothing is deleted because of non-payment.

We never hold money on behalf of contributors or publishers. Credits that contributors use come from the membership tiers you sell in Ghost, or from grants you record yourself; the service does not take or pass on contributor payments in this version. Card data never reaches us: Stripe collects it on its own pages.

Content

Contributors own what they write; by submitting it they grant you a licence to publish it (the Contributor content terms). You decide what to publish. You are responsible for what you publish on your site, including compliance with advertising and disclosure rules where you operate. The service applies the disclosure label, the rel="sponsored" link attribute and the noindex setting your packages define; the Sponsored-content policy says what every paid placement must carry.

What you may not do

Use the service to publish unlawful content, to deceive readers about what is paid for, to circumvent Ghost's or Stripe's terms, to attack the service or other publishers' data, or to resell access to the service.

Availability and support

We run the service on a best-effort basis during the beta, with the monitoring and backups described in the developer documentation. We tell you about planned maintenance by email. Support is by email at the address published on this site.

Disconnecting and deleting

You can disconnect a site at any time. The service then deletes the site's webhooks in Ghost, stops using its credentials, and deletes the site's data from our systems within 30 days, after offering an export. Closing your workspace deletes its sites the same way. The drafts and posts in your Ghost site stay yours and untouched.

Liability

The service is provided as described, without other warranties. To the extent the law allows, our liability to you for anything arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, and neither of us is liable to the other for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Changes and termination

We can change these terms with 30 days' notice by email; continuing to use the service after that date accepts the change. Either of us can end this agreement at any time: you by closing the workspace, we by notice if you breach these terms or if we stop offering the service (with at least 60 days' notice and an export).

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of Sri Lanka, and the courts of Colombo have jurisdiction, until the operator changes (see the Legal overview), at which point this section is updated with the new operator's law and the change is notified.
