Sponsored-content policy
What every paid placement published through SponsorPass carries, and what is never allowed.
Draft
Draft pending professional review (see the Legal overview). Effective date: to be set at launch.
Disclosure, every time
Every post that was paid for carries a disclosure the reader cannot miss: a labelled callout at the top of the post (or at the bottom, or both, as the publisher configures per site) naming the kind of placement and the contributor, in the publisher's chosen words such as "Sponsored" or "Press release". The disclosure is part of the post the service creates; contributors cannot remove it and publishers configure it per package.
Links
Every outbound link in a paid placement carries rel="sponsored" when the package requires it (the default for sponsored posts and press releases), so search engines treat it as paid. Links are plain links: no tracking redirects, no disguised destinations. Publishers may block links to domains they choose.
Search engines
A package can mark its posts noindex. When it does, the service sets exactly one line in the post's code injection, <meta name="robots" content="noindex">, on the drafts it created, and nothing else.
What is never allowed
Placements that pretend to be editorial; content that misleads readers about a product, a price or a risk; content aimed at children; anything illegal where the publisher operates, including unlicensed financial or medical claims; content that infringes rights; and hidden scripts or embeds. Publishers decline what breaks this policy; the service blocks the technical means (scripts, raw HTML, hidden cards) in the editor and on the server.
The publisher's responsibility
The publisher is the one publishing, and remains responsible for complying with the advertising and consumer-protection rules of the places their readers are. The service makes the disclosure and the link attribute the default so that doing the right thing takes no extra step.
