Credits

Where credits come from, how they are spent, and when they expire.

The Credits page shows your balance on the site: what is Available to spend, what is Held for submissions you have sent, what was Used and what Expired, and when the next credits expire. Below it, every lot of credits you have received is listed with where it came from, its state (Active, Used up or Expired), what is left of it and when it expires; Details shows when it arrived, its reference and, for a refund or an adjustment, the reason. The history lists every change to your credits, newest first, with the amount beside each one; Load more shows older entries.

Credits arrive with your membership: a mapped tier grants a number of credits for each billing period, at the start and at each renewal. A site's owner can also grant credits directly, for example after an invoice. Three days before a lot that still has credits left expires, you get a notice in the app and an email, unless you have switched those emails off.

WhenWhat happens to credits
You submitThe package's price is held from your available credits
The owner publishesThe held credits are spent
The owner declines, you withdraw, or a revision deadline passesThe held credits are returned
A period endsCredits from that period that are still available expire (the site may let them carry over)
After publicationThe owner may refund some or all of the credits

Credits belong to one site and have no cash value. If your subscription ends, the credits you already have stay until their period ends, but you cannot submit new work until you hold a mapped tier again.
